Season of Self-Care 🫶

Holding space for yourself and others

Hi everyone!

I hope fall is treating you well! At the beginning of the month, I returned from a trip and am feeling refreshed and extremely grateful for the time that I had. Although it was sad to leave, it’s nice to be back and settled into my routine. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy getting back into the swing of things and this inspired some of the content in this month’s newsletter.

One of my favorite pictures from the trip!

Before getting too far into this, I have to mention recent world events. There are no words to describe the pain that the world is feeling right now from Israel to Maine, and beyond. During this time of collective grief and trauma, listen to your emotions and reserve space, kindness, and empathy for yourself and others. I’ve included some resources and coping strategies below for additional support.

All the best,

Mandy

When We Feel the Pain of the World:

1. Support system - Connect with the people who make you feel safe. Reach out to friends & family, and schedule times to communicate or be with them. Avoid isolation.

2. Self-care - Check in with yourself and maintain your routines. Engage in mindful eating. And, don’t forget to get up and move.

3. Manage your exposure - Stay informed by trusted sources but limit the media you consume if you notice yourself feeling overwhelmed.

4. Practice mindfulness - Slow down and pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, and emotions without judgment.

5. Hold space - Grant yourself adequate time to feel your feelings, grieve, journal, and talk through what is happening.

6. Take Action - Support individuals or organizations helping those affected by traumatic events.

FROM THE BLOG:
Self-Care During the Fall Season

Autumn tends to be a busy time and mixed with the shorter days and colder weather it can impact our well-being. Transitioning into a new season can be exciting yet it can also lead us to feel uneasy and overwhelmed. We might not even realize that our self-care can be the first to go when change happens. With the holiday season approaching, it can be a good time to reflect and prioritize practicing strategies to support yourself during this time.
