Signs of Spring, People-Pleasing, and Simple Joys ✨

Blooming and growing

Hi everyone!

Signs of spring are here and this season symbolizes renewal and growth for so many of us. Springtime also presents us with more opportunities to spend time outside and connect with others which can enhance our overall well-being. Although this can be exciting, we might be faced with making more decisions on how we want to prioritize and spend our time. This can be particularly challenging for individuals who struggle with people-pleasing tendencies or have difficulty saying “no.” If you can relate, you’re not alone and I’ve got you covered!

Practicing setting boundaries and preventative strategies can help you navigate this season of change with more acceptance and prepare you for the warmer months ahead.

Have a great week!

All the best,

How to Stop Being a People-Pleaser

Most of us want to make others happy. Although this is a positive quality to have, overextending yourself in relationships can take a toll on your mental health and lead to people-pleasing. These behaviors can stem from a strong desire to seek approval and validation from others, often at the expense of your own needs, values, and well-being. If you’re a people-pleaser, you might go to great lengths to make others happy, avoid conflict, and seek constant approval, even if it means sacrificing your own happiness. With practice, you can break free from the cycle of people-pleasing and reclaim your autonomy.

Simple Joys: Trader Joe’s and Mini Tote Bags

🛒🛍️

I’m a big fan of Trader Joe’s and always have a pleasant shopping experience there (especially checking out their seasonal products). I also love a good tote bag and got super excited when I stumbled upon their new mini totes. After securing my own mini tote, I saw them go viral on social media with one video showing people flocking to the shelves as employees rolled them out. It’s now an ongoing joke with my family that the TJ’s mini totes are taking over the world since they’ve been spotted everywhere.

A moment for the tote ☀️

Although it might sound silly, it made me think about the the simple things in life that bring us joy. Personally, I’m looking forward to using my tote to run errands and the color yellow reminds me of sunshine and happiness. Also, as humans, we tend to be drawn to cute, small things which probably adds to the excitement. Simple, small acts such as buying a new product, grabbing your favorite coffee, or going to a workout class might seem insignificant but these moments make up our everyday lives. The next time you do something that makes you smile, ask yourself if there is a way you can pause and recognize more of these moments. And, if you’re a fellow Trader Joe’s and tote fan, I hope you’re able to snag one in your color!

The gift we want to give future generations as women is the ability to identify stress and then have some tools to be able to shift back into that regulatory mode, so we can transmute that stress response versus to suppress it.
