Supporting Self-Esteem

Good morning, friends!

Can you believe that we’re more than halfway through the summer and year?! I hope that you’re taking care of yourself and finding time to do things that bring you joy.

Speaking of the halfway mark, now can be a good time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished so far and set intentions for the rest of the year. Remember, it’s okay if you’re not where you thought you’d be. Allow yourself time to identify what’s working and build off of that. If you’re getting in your own way, I hope you find some of the content below helpful— you’ve got this!

Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

Do you ever feel like a fraud or that you’re unqualified for your position? Maybe it’s a persistent negative feeling that you’re not good enough, that you don’t belong, or that you don’t deserve the success you’ve achieved. If so, you’re not alone and this feeling can be common for many of us. The term used to describe this is called imposter syndrome and most people are likely to experience it at some point in their lives.

Imposter syndrome can result in low self-esteem, decreased self-confidence and ability to celebrate accomplishments. Although it can feel like a cycle, there are ways to overcome feeling like an imposter in your own life.

200+ Affirmations for Anxiety

Favorite Grounding Strategy at the Moment

Using ice or cold water in different ways, which is a nice to practice with the summer heat! Cold water or ice can jolt your system out of fight or flight if you’re experiencing anxiety or stress. It also allows you to focus on your immediate surroundings and your sensations.

  • Run cold water over your hands

  • Splash your face with cold water

  • Place a cold, wet washcloth on your face or neck

  • Hold ice in your hands for as long as possible or until it melts

  • Roll ice or an ice roller on your face, neck and upper chest

  • Take a cool or cold shower
